August Rott Flugel in A  c.1880

This Flugel in A is inscribed August Rott Sohn, Prag.  The company was established by his father Franz Karl Rott, son of Augustin Heidrich.  Rott flourished in Prague from 1869 to 1913 and was a brass instrument supplier to the Spanish and Italian armies.  This flugel has been completely restored and it plays sweetly with a clear centered tonality. Note the fitted leather case. The absence of a waterkey is indicative of an early manufacture date.
