English Coach Horn c.1895

This is a hammered copper coach horn about 48 inches long. It separates in the middle by use of a brass ferrule. The applied cast brass crown logo may be suspect in terms of origin- but the coach horn is well made consistant with 19th century workmanship.  Coach horns were carried in a woven cane basket at the rear of the coach and played by a footman to announce the arrival of the coach- or perhaps the mail.
