Berliner Valve Trumpet in Bb c.1860

This is an interesting early trumpet in high Bb (A=454) with Berliner Pumpen valves.  The leadpipe extender tuning bit sports the diamond shaped nubs found on early keyed bugles and many US Civil War era instruments. Further, the lyre holder is round-consistent with instruments made during this period. It could have been an early import from the various brass instrument makers in Marneukirchen who supplied US dealers /distributors.  The trumpet has been retored to its former glory and still plays beautifully without further treatment or plating of the valves!
