Philip Frederick Cornet in Bb c.1885

Philip Frederick was born 1845 in Neustadt / Wurttemberg  and emigrated to the US in 1848 with his family.  He apprenticed under Lehnert and was know as a brass instrument maker from 1880 to 1914.

This little cornet plays in high pitch and modern pitch by simply reversing the leadpipe where the shorter high pitch pipe is soldered.  The individual valve tuning crooks are pulled out to marks  for low pitch.
