York Cornet in Bb & A  c.1903

The ornate inscription on the bell of this cornet reads:
Made By
J.W.  YORK  &  SONS
Grand Rapids
Mich
The transition from Bb to A is accomplished by a change of tuning slide and a longer leadpipe. The silver plate is worn in the normal places indicating long term us, but the cornet still plays clearly and sweetly attesting to the excellent workmanship from York instruments at the turn of the century.
