Besson Cornet in Bb   c.1913

This Besson & Co.  "CLASS A NEW CREATION" cornet still has a warm centered tone and smooth valve action despite its age.  Consistant with the quality Besson instruments of this period,  the silver plate is extra heavy, and not worn through in any areas.  Inscribed on the second valve is "BESSON & CO PREVETE 99473" indicating a date of manufacture of 1913.    Carl Fisher was the agent for Besson and Boosey in the USA.
