1917 Conn "Wonder Vocal" Cornet in C

This is Conn's Wonder Vocal Cornet which can play in high and low pitch or low pitch alone. It is built in C,  with quick and simple change to Bb and A with a rotary valve change. The catalog (scroll down) indicates that this Vocal cornet was intended to be a companion to Conn's New Wonder cornet.   There are two sets of valve crooks - one for C and one for Bb.  The adjusting screw can be used to adjust pitch on the quick change A crook. Conn was so sure of this cornet, they issued a  challenge:

"The C.G. Conn, ltd. will give one thousand Dollars to any persons producing a cornet equal to the WONDER VOCAL CORNET in all the refinements we claim for it.
The money is ready. Bring on your cornets."!!

Note the absence of a shepard's crook configuration in theis cornet.  The furnished mouthpiece is highly decorated and marked: WONDER MO and 19. Included in the fitted case are all the crooks, a metal oil bottle a cleaning rod and cloth.  The cornet plays with a brilliant, beautiful quality of tone as advertised!   Please scroll down for catalog photos.
