Keefer Baritone  c.1919

Brua Cameron Keefer  purchased the Henry Diston Mfg. Co. in 1909. His father  Luther had been an investor in Distin's factory and Brua served as general manager from 1890 when Distin retired.  He built primarily brasswinds but apparently in the later years branched out into saxophones as well.  This Baritone (serial 7799) was built in 1919- just after the start of World War I. It is constructed in a saxhorn configuration and still has a lovely centered tone - attesting to the continuing quality of early Distin and Keefer brass.  Scroll down for logo photo.
