Early Trumpet in Bb - Berliner Valves c.1945

This is a very early valved trumpet most likely made in Marneukirchen Germany c.1845-1850. The trumpet plays in Bb with a leadpipe extender. The trumpet is played horizontally and employs "berliner pumpen" valves.   The  diamond shaped nubs on the leadpipe are indicative of a early manufacture date and are found on early keyed bugles.   The lyre holder has a round hole - and the trumpet has no waterkey - both features  indicative of 1850s design.
