1870 Lehnert TARV Pocket Cornet

This little beauty I almost had in my hands - but I quavered at the cost and lost out!!  It is an extremely rare Civil War era Pocket Cornet with string activated Top Action Rotary Valves made by Henry Lehnert of Philadelphia. Note the graduated leadpipe extender.   TARV pocket cornets are reletively rare. Note the ruler in bottom photo showing the length at 8 inches!!   This lovely instrument is now owned by Nick Decarlis of Gainsville FL.
