Omani Coffee Pot c.1850This
is a typical coffee pot from the Sultanate of Oman mid-19th
century. It features the unique Omani design of a top spike and a
small brasss flag on the rear of the top. The pot is copper with
brass top and handle with the inside tinned to ensure the metal taste
is not transferred to the coffee. These pots were usd then as they are
today - to serve the bitter arabic coffee in small glass or ceramic
handleless cups. When one has had enugh refills, the etiquette is
to wiggle your cup indicating you don't want more!
