This beautiful ewer was made in Ceylon in the mid-18th Century.  It is bronze with a decorative handle with a "square knot" design.  The body and base are highly decorated with floral designs. The long pouring spout is 9 inches lon and a V shape.  This ewer was probably used to service various oil lamps in a household.
