This a truly beautiful early American cherry Desk-on-frame c.1800.  It is only for sale as we don't have  sufficient space to feature this desk in our home (as can be attested to by the junk piled inder it...sorry).  

The desk section can be removed from the legs and drawer section.  The top lifts up and is held by a side locking mechanism. Then the front panel folds down to form part of the writing desk surface.  Note the cubby holes for documents and papers. There is even an original  stain where someone spilled the ink!!
