This interesting brass pot from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) looks much like a German beer stein and may in fact have been used for  beer. It was more likely used for the fermented coconut milk or "Toddy". The surface and top of the pot is highly decorated with hand worked designs including a band  featuring horses, deer  and cattle.
