Large Burl Wood Humidor -
early 20th c.This
is an exquisite Burl wood Humidor made for cigars or other tobacco
products. It seems to be lined with cedar. It has a brass
piano hinged top with lock and small brass vents on the side. It
measures 17" x
12" x 11" tall. It has the inscription"Patented July 15 1902". The
plaque describes the theory behind keeping cigars in an box where "the leaf of the tobacco plant continues to
live and retain the power of breathing". The box excludes
moisture, but admits airand keeps the cigars in perfect condition!
