This is another superb Turkoman
woven in the Bokara area by the Mauri tribal people. It is
often called the "Zahir Shah" style of design featuring intricate
geometric details in the design. This is an particularly fine carpet
with a high knot content due to the Ectara "one thread" style of
weaving thin weft threads. The carpet features a double row
of Sarouk guls on a blue-black field.and surrounded by 6 intricate
borders of different reds accented with pure white highlights. I
consider this to be one of my finest carpets in terms of workmanship,
color and design.
