In this beautiful Kazak two colors predominate:- red and blue. The red color forms the figures which overlay a blue field. There are 3 geometric connected figures with 4 pairs of latch hooks. The center white medallian incldes a center figure which looks like a coat of arms.  The main border is tied together by a geometric white line with a comb pattern which meanders around chevrons and other figures. On the ends the chevrons are replaced by blue geometric arrows and orange stars. The main border is flanked on both sides by blue borders decorated with multi-colored boteh-miri motifs.   The carpet has a band of abrash in the center which seems to affect only the dark blue field.  The carpet is dated in two places - but the Roman numbers are crudly drawn, and only with some difficulty can one finally determine it is either 1996 or 1926- the latter being correct due to the obvious age of the carpet!  There is a small inscription above the second date which says "friend".  This carpet may have been a wedding gift and considering its age, it is in excellent condition with no evidence of repairs.
