While this is a contemporary (new) Soumak - it is of exceptional quality in terms of the fine workmanship and beautiful  design.  This is one of a lot of soumacks from the Azirbaijani Agjabedi District. I tried to locate more, but never again found any equal to these.  This carpet features stylized dragon figures on a red-brick field.  The goat hair foundation make these kelims wear like iron!
